This trip to China saw 杨丕源 Yang Piyuan going to 浙江 Zhejiang 杭州 Hangzhou. The 杭州西湖文化景观 West Lake Cultural Landscape of Hangzhou was inscribed in the 世界遗产 World Heritage Site List in 2011 CE.
On another trip to China this year, 杨丕源 Yang Piyuan went to 香港 Xianggang / Hong Kong for the second time of his life. This time he had more time to spend there. The first in 1994 CE was a very short one. He only managed to visit 尖沙咀 Jiānshājǔ Tsim Sha Tsui.
This was the year the novel "The Sympathizer" by Viet Thanh Nguyen was published again by Corsair (it was first published by them in 2015 CE). Having visited Vietnam and fascinated by the history of the nation during the American war and occupation, he bought a copy of it. On page 10 of the book, he learned that "The truth, in this case, was that at least a million people were working or had worked for the Americans in one capacity or another,..."
