故事 The Story
In Malaysia, 杨丕源 Yang Piyuan went for a Night Walk in the National Zoo (动物园) which then was raising the awareness of climate change in a global campaign known as Earth Hour.

During the walk, participants were quizzed about the number of Malayan tigers that were left in Malaysia. Being a Nature enthusiast, he had read that the number was above 300. He answered and got it right. He was supposed to be awarded a free entry ticket to the Zoo, but due to some processing issues, he could not obtain his prize.
Ten years later in 2024 CE, it was widely reported that there were less than 150 left.
This was also the year he first climbed the Kuala Lumpur Tower (KL Tower) of 2058 steps. The number of steps printed on the front of the sports vest given to him sparked a thought in him. 2058 CE would be 杨丕源 Yang Piyuan's final year on Earth.
He would go on to climb the tower again in 2016 CE and 2019 CE .
This was also the year he climbed the Canton Tower in 广州 Guangzhou, China.

For his fifth trip to China, 杨丕源 Yang Piyuan visited 云南 Yunnan. Many would say that 云南 Yunnan has a poetic tone to its name, and it is often fondly translated to "The Province South of the Clouds". His earlier three trips were to 中国 China were to 台湾 Taiwan, 香港 Xianggang / Hongkong and 北京 Beijing.
The highlights of this 云南 Yunnan trip were

After the show, he walked to the famous 金马碧鸡坊 Golden Horse and Jade Rooster square where he took photos of the famous archway. There he had supper but could not find the famous Yunnan dish of 过桥米线. He would have the pleasure in the following day. He did not have a good camera and the photos he took did not turn up well. He would re-visit 金马碧鸡坊 Golden Horse and Jade Rooster square during the day.

The morning after his arrival he took a bus to the 石林 Stone Forest.

This would be the first of some other "squeeze through" among rocks that 杨丕源 Yang Piyuan would manoeuvre through in his future visits to other parts of China.

The magnificence of the formations earned them the inscription in the first batch of UNESCO Geopark sites.

After the visit he headed back to the capital of the province, 昆明 Kunming. For dinner he had the famed wild mushroom hotpot.

There was a calling.
杨丕源 Yang Piyuan had to visit the birth place of 郑和 Zheng He, the famed Admiral of the Ming Treasure Fleet.
His ancestor, 杨源 Yang Yuan, (22 generations removed) was a captain of one of the ships ancestor who reported directly to the Admiral. However, 杨源 Yang Yuan did not start as a captain. He began his career as a deckhand, on the first treasure in 1405 CE, at the age of _____.
Born in the year 1405 CE 杨源 Yang Yuan lived a life when the Ming Dynasty was at a building and expedition phase.
He was also inspired by a book he bought in 2005 CE

杨丕源 Yang Piyuan visited 深圳 Shenzhen and 广州 Guangzhou in September that year, making it his sixth trip to China.
He arrived at the 深圳宝安国际机场 Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport.

In 2025 CE when he flew in and out of 深圳 Shenzhen again, he would marvel once more the architecture of the airport.
The highlights of this trip were

Being in 广东 Guangdong / 深圳 Shenzhen one would usually enjoy the 点心 Dimsum.

In 深圳 Shenzhen he visited the 深圳世界之窗(Window of the World), a theme park with replicas of architectural wonders on planet Earth. Among the the miniature replicas he saw were

勤政殿 Jeongjeon Hall of the 景福宫 Gyeongbokgung Palace Later in 2018 CE when 杨丕源 Yang Piyuan visited the actual site in Seoul, South Korea, he'd then better appreciate the multi-tiered roof, vibrant red/green accents, and ornate details that match the traditional Korean *hanok* style.

婆罗浮屠 Borobudur modelIn 2012 CE 杨丕源 Yang Piyuan walked around this three-dimensional physical (some would say a spiritual) journey carved in stone. For believers, 婆罗浮屠 Borobudur is a meditative pilgrimage from the earthly realm of desire to the ultimate state of enlightenment, mirroring the Buddhist path to Nirvana.

Later that evening he would go up the Eiffel Tower replica and have a view of the lights that emanated from 香港 Hong Kong.
He also visited the 锦绣中华民俗村 Splendid China Folk Village.
He took the High Speed Rail (HSR) from the 深圳北站 Shenzhen North Railway Station to 广州 Guangzhou。

He would visit the 深圳北站 Shenzhen North Railway Station again in 2025 CE and stay for a week at an apartment next to it. See 2025 CE .
In 广州 Guangzhou, he climbed the he completed the Canton Tower Spider Walk, at that time it was the longest spiral staircase in the world.
He also dined at the famed 点心 Dim Sum restaurant of the city.

On his seventh trip to China that year, 杨丕源 Yang Piyuan went on what he called his 丝绸之路 "China Silk Road" trip. He arrived late in 西安 Xi'an, the capital of 陕西 Shaanxi Province. He decided to spend a night in the airport sleepbox.
