For his fifth trip to China, 杨丕源 Yang Piyuan visited 云南 Yunnan.
Many would say that 云南 Yunnan has a poetic tone to its name, and
it is often fondly translated to "The Province South of the
Clouds".
Locatedin China’s far southwest, Yunnan is a land of dramatic
contrasts and crossroads. It shares borders with Myanmar, Laos,
and Vietnam, making it China’s gateway to Southeast Asia. From the
snow-capped peaks of the Hengduan Mountains in the north to the
tropical rainforests of Xishuangbanna in the south, Yunnan’s
terrain plunges over 3,000 meters in elevation. The Mekong,
Salween, and 长江 Changjiang (Yangtze) rivers carve deep gorges
through its heart.
杨丕源 Yang Piyuan landed at the 昆明长水国际机场 Kunming Changshui
International Airport. The airport was opened in 2012 CE.
