For his fifth trip to China, 杨丕源 Yang Piyuan visited 云南 Yunnan.
Many would say that 云南 Yunnan has a poetic tone to its name, and
it is often fondly translated to "The Province South of the
Clouds".
The evening he arrived he went to watch the performance of 云南映象 -
Dynamic Yunnan. The show was conceived and directed by 杨丽萍 Yang
Liping, one of China's most famous dancers. She is fondly known as
the "Peacock Princess" for her iconic dance.
The performances were one visual and audio delight after another.
From the pounding of the ancient bronze drums to the intricate
embroidery on every costume, 云南映象 Dynamic Yunnan told a story of
sun, earth, spirit, and community.
When the peacock dance was performed on stage, 杨丕源 Yang Piyuan
felt the avian energy of the creature. The dance was so graceful
it evoked the spirit of the bird, making him feel its flight.

飞到高雄后，杨丕源乘火车去嘉义。以上照片拍摄于高雄车站 。
嘉义是通往阿里山的重要门户。阿里山森林铁路，一条有百年历史的登山铁路，从这里开始。
清朝（康熙皇帝统治时期）建立了“朱罗山”作为防御城墙。这标志着嘉义的成立。公元1787年，乾隆皇帝将嘉 义更名为嘉义，意思是“赞美正义”，以纪念其公民的忠诚。
