This was the year when his parents moved to a newer government quarters in 安顺 Teluk Anson, Malaysia. 杨丕源 Yang Piyuan‘s father 杨杰吉 Yang Jieji was a government servant. He then served as the Chief Clerk for the Marine Department in 安顺 Teluk Anson. Being English-educated and working under a British superior named Captain William, he enjoyed Western entertainment.
This was the year that the movie "The Sound of Music" was released. By the name it arrived in the cinemas of 安顺 Teluk Anson， the songs of Do-Re-Mi, Edelweiss and Climb Every Mountain were already popular hits on the radio. The song Climb Every Mountain was also taught to 杨丕源 Yang Piyuan when he attended secondary school in the Anglo-Chinese in 怡保 Ipoh.
杨杰吉 Yang Jieji had a turn table and bought himself a the vinyl record of The Sound of Music. He would play the songs over and over again.
Among the songs, Climb Every Mountain was the song that would play in 杨丕源 Yang Piyuan's head for the rest of his life, and one that would encourage him to hike the mountains of China and the countries he visited. It was a song that would also motivate him when he had to overcome mental and intellectual challenges.
