四川 Sichuan (No 20) is a landlocked province in southwestern
China, renowned as the 天府之国 "Land of Abundance" for its fertile
四川盆地 Sichuan Basin and agricultural richness.
It is globally famous for 大熊猫 giant pandas (Chengdu Research
Base), fiery Sichuan cuisine (home of mala 麻辣 flavor), and
breathtaking natural wonders like 九寨沟 Jiuzhaigou Valley and 黄龙
Huanglong (both UNESCO World Heritage Sites) .
With dramatic elevation changes—from the low-lying 成都平原 Chengdu
Plain to the snow-capped peaks of western Sichuan — it serves as a
cultural and geographic bridge between Han Chinese heartland and
青藏高原 Qinghai–Tibet Plateau regions, and is a cornerstone of the
成都-重庆 Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
