Introduction

This is a melting pot of story, adventure(-game) and learning that uses the 杨 Yang family as they travel across China through time and space. This website traverse through generations. In the process it is hoped that the reader gets to know more about Chinese History and Chinese Characters.

The photos of the travel made from the 1990s on are real. The travels during those years are real, too. However, the story is fictitious.

Learning Chinese 

There are a few ways in the approach to learning the language.

One is to use the Radicals .It does not mean that one should know also the Radicals before one proceeds to learning the characters, phrases and sentences. In this site (as mentioned above - melting pot of story, adventure(-game) and learning), a Radical is assigned to a story-year. One does not have to memorise or learn by heart the 214 Radicals . However, a working knowledge of about 100 has been mentioned as sufficient.The Radicals in a character can play the role of the "main / meaning" component and as the sound component.
