This disease
- first identified in 1906 by psychiatrist Alois Alzheimer -
attacks the brain.
It can be fatal.
Brain
cells
- also called neurons - are destroyed causing the sufferer to
lose memory and have problems in thinking and behaving.
Scientists are still unsure of the reasons why the neurons fail
to function and eventually die. However, it has been discovered
that two different changes occur in the brain
of patients of this disease.
They are
1) the build-up of amyloid into plaques
2) tangles get accumulated inside the neurons.
Alzheimer's Disease usually begins after the age of 60. It starts slowly and then the symptoms worsen as time goes on.

2) pengumpulan selirat dalam neuron.
